Our Story

Rooted in Aynor.
Growing with you.

Sassafras Nursery & Herbs isn't a big-box operation. We're your neighbors — right here on Highway 319 — and we've spent over a decade learning what grows well in this part of South Carolina.

From shade-loving hostas to sun-basking herbs, every plant in our nursery is selected for its ability to thrive in our local conditions. We don't just sell plants; we match you with the right ones and show you how to keep them thriving.

What We Offer

Everything your
garden needs

Nursery Plants

Flowering perennials, shade plants, shrubs, and trees — all chosen for our local growing zone and nurtured from the start.

Fresh Herbs

Basil, rosemary, thyme, mint — and more. Our herb selection changes with the seasons so you always get the freshest stock.

Soil & Mulch

Premium potting blends, garden soil, and mulch — the foundation every great garden is built on. We stock what works here.

Garden Supplies

Tools, pots, fertilizers, and everything in between. If it belongs in your garden, we'll likely have it — or can get it for you.

Seasonal Guidance

Not sure what to plant in spring? When to prune? We give honest, practical advice — no upselling, just what your garden actually needs.

Personal Consultation

Bring your space — your yard, your balcony, your problem corner — and we'll help you pick plants that fit and flourish there.

"We stopped by for a single herb and walked out with everything our garden needed — plus advice we'd never found anywhere else."
